ÁNGEL BALDOVINO
Ángel Baldovino’s work exists in the space between memory, intuition, and spiritual reflection. Born in Buenos Aires in 1929 and now based in Mallorca, the artist has developed a deeply personal visual language shaped by poetry, metaphysical thought, music, and lived experience.
His paintings move beyond visible reality into emotional and symbolic landscapes inhabited by floating forms, birds, luminous figures, and fragments of memory. Through layered compositions and a restrained yet vibrant palette, Baldovino creates worlds where imagination and silence coexist.
A near-death experience in 1970 profoundly transformed his artistic direction, leading him toward increasingly introspective and dreamlike works. Influenced by Renaissance art, spiritual abstraction, and the Mediterranean light of Mallorca, his paintings became meditations on transcendence, freedom, and the invisible dimensions of existence.
Now in his nineties, Baldovino continues to paint with extraordinary sensitivity and clarity. His work reflects a lifelong pursuit of emotional truth; where symbolism, intuition, and poetic stillness remain inseparable. At Cansalas Gallery & Art House, Baldovino’s paintings are presented as immersive emotional landscapes that invite contemplation and quiet dialogue between viewer and work.
